In urban New York city, Carl Schurz park is a place to getaway from the frenetic pace and find peace that often alludes Manhattanites. The respite is Carl Schurz park, located steps away from the east river and not too far from Gracie Mansion, the mayor's residence.
About Madeline Ellis
At 12 yrs. old I was fascinated by this little box called a camera. If you pressed the button and brought the negatives to a drugstore, one week later photos would be returned in its' place. I didn't understand this magic. When I was old enough, I studied photography at Brooklyn College. I found that if I put my negatives in a thing called an enlarger a shadow would appear on photo paper. When I dropped that paper in some chemicals, a picture would emerge. Wow! I was hooked and so I studied at the International Center Of Photography. Now, I take a photo, plug my camera into my computer and the photo I just took pops up on my screen. Times have changed.
