Artist's Description
Nathan's in Coney Island, Brooklyn has been serving fries and hot dogs since 1916. It holds many fun memories for me. As a kid, after visiting the amusement park, we would head over here and wait on the long lines for the dogs and the fries. "Lots of sauerkraut and mustard please.", I would say with hungry anticipation. Today people still line up and a new generation is enjoying the outdoor food here.
This is part of my Coney Island series.

At 12 yrs. old I was fascinated by this little box called a camera. If you pressed the button and brought the negatives to a drugstore, one week later photos would be returned in its' place. I didn't understand this magic. When I was old enough, I studied photography at Brooklyn College. I found that if I put my negatives in a thing called an enlarger a shadow would appear on photo paper. When I dropped that paper in some chemicals, a picture would emerge. Wow! I was hooked and so I studied at the International Center Of Photography. Now, I take a photo, plug my camera into my computer and the photo I just took pops up on my screen. Times have changed.
