Central Park is an oasis to all those in need of a respite from the hectic New York City life.
High rises are seen in the background. Red leaves scattered on the rocks in the foreground reveal autumn's color. Peace is found in the still pond that reflects the surrounding beauty. It is a glorious afternoon. I am part of the day with camera slung over my neck and my finger touching its' magic button that I soon press to capture this moment in time.
At 12 yrs. old I was fascinated by this little box called a camera. If you pressed the button and brought the negatives to a drugstore, one week later photos would be returned in its' place. I didn't understand this magic. When I was old enough, I studied photography at Brooklyn College. I found that if I put my negatives in a thing called an enlarger a shadow would appear on photo paper. When I dropped that paper in some chemicals, a picture would emerge. Wow! I was hooked and so I studied at the International Center Of Photography. Now, I take a photo, plug my camera into my computer and the photo I just took pops up on my screen. Times have changed.
