Artist's Description

This is a scene taken in Martha's Vineyard of restaurants and wine bars. I heard stories of Sasha Obama being here at the time I was taking this, but never imagined that I would see President Obama. I assumed that the man I saw taking photos was a look-alike. It wasn't until I was home that I realized that man was probably our President. So if you look just off frame, you might see him.

At 12 yrs. old I was fascinated by this little box called a camera. If you pressed the button and brought the negatives to a drugstore, one week later photos would be returned in its' place. I didn't understand this magic. When I was old enough, I studied photography at Brooklyn College. I found that if I put my negatives in a thing called an enlarger a shadow would appear on photo paper. When I dropped that paper in some chemicals, a picture would emerge. Wow! I was hooked and so I studied at the International Center Of Photography. Now, I take a photo, plug my camera into my computer and the photo I just took pops up on my screen. Times have changed. I have had four one woman shows and one group show in Manhattan. It was an...
