They recently tore down astrotower, seen in this photo, because it was swaying and deemed unsafe. The photo is both historical and sentimental in value to all those who ever visited as a child.
Astroland was built as a space-age theme park when it was opened in 1962. It is now known as Luna Park.

At 12 yrs. old I was fascinated by this little box called a camera. If you pressed the button and brought the negatives to a drugstore, one week later photos would be returned in its' place. I didn't understand this magic. When I was old enough, I studied photography at Brooklyn College. I found that if I put my negatives in a thing called an enlarger a shadow would appear on photo paper. When I dropped that paper in some chemicals, a picture would emerge. Wow! I was hooked and so I studied at the International Center Of Photography. Now, I take a photo, plug my camera into my computer and the photo I just took pops up on my screen. Times have changed.
